BBC Earth at Asante Microfarm

Writer: Crop Swap LA Crop Swap LA

BBC Earth has been profiling farmers around the world and how they are managing with the climate crisis. Last month, their film crew visited Asante Microfarm and interviewed Jamiah. The production involved video meetings between the UK, NYC, Buenos Aires and Los Angeles. We're thrilled and honored that they chose to interview Jamiah and highlight Crop Swap LA™. Asante BBC Earth!

We Grow Food On Unused Spaces

Growing Communities, Inc. dba Crop Swap LA ™

We acknowledge the Gabrielino/Tongva peoples as the traditional land caretakers of Tovaangar (the Los Angeles basin and So. Channel Islands). We pay our respects to the Honuukvetam (Ancestors), ‘Ahiihirom (Elders) and ‘Eyoohiinkem (our relatives/relations) past, present and emerging.

They are the First Peoples of the region, their lands were unceded, they did not negotiate a treaty with Mexico or the US government.

Today, the First Peoples of Los Angeles struggle every day for their sovereignty.
