South LA Transformation

A few months ago, Crop Swap LA was commissioned by the St. Mark UMC Church to transform their backyard into a space to grow food and the spirit. They wanted to create a labyrinth surrounded by plants and herbs to be used for reflection, as well as have a vegetable garden to help feed the many they serve. The vegetable garden has its own irrigation system, utilizes gardensoxx, and has eggplant, cucumber, beets, tomatoes, and zucchini flourishing.

Hope you enjoy watching the transformation. We are very proud of the outcome.

We Grow Food On Unused Spaces

Growing Communities, Inc. dba Crop Swap LA ™

We acknowledge the Gabrielino/Tongva peoples as the traditional land caretakers of Tovaangar (the Los Angeles basin and So. Channel Islands). We pay our respects to the Honuukvetam (Ancestors), ‘Ahiihirom (Elders) and ‘Eyoohiinkem (our relatives/relations) past, present and emerging.

They are the First Peoples of the region, their lands were unceded, they did not negotiate a treaty with Mexico or the US government.

Today, the First Peoples of Los Angeles struggle every day for their sovereignty.
